Here comes the rain again. Maybe.

6:49pm: Thunder and lightning in the distance. Frightened dog in the kitchen.

The big red wad is about 30 minutes away from LaGrange. Boy, do we ever need rain—Mom’s garden looks so droopy.

8:19pm: You mean to tell me I hugged a very scared 62-pound dog for over an hour, and that big red wad on the radar just disappeared? What’s he supposed to tell his canine friends? “Mama hugged me, but then the storm wented away.” So much for his street cred.

10:05pm: Okay, another wave is just now hitting Montgomery. It can get on I-85 North and be in LaGrange in a few hours. Stop at Piggly-Wiggly and pick me up an RC and a Moon Pie, will ya? I want to be prepared for all that rain.

12:24am: Stupid storm must have taken US 431 when it got to Opelika, then AL 22 through Roanoke, then GA 34 to Franklin and Newnan, and then picked up I-85 North again.

All we have for our trouble is ¼” of water in the birdbath. At least the dog’s happy.
