Friday Photo: 5/25/12

Trees are amazing.

New growth sprouts from a knothole in a sycamore tree in my mother’s yard. I love the light green of the leaves against the silvery-gray of the bark and weathered wood. The insect holes in the center leaves add interest to the center of the image, as do the two smaller holes in the bark (below knothole). They remind me of a manta ray’s strangely spaced eyes.
